Q: What Are The Trash Can Rules?

A: The Los Angeles City Ordinance states, “Containers may be placed at the curb no earlier than 6 P.M. on the evening before the day of collection;” (In our case Sunday evening.) and “containers must be removed no later than 8 P.M. on the day of collection;” (In our case Monday evening.) “Containers must be stored out of sight, away from the street and behind a gate, if possible.

Violations may be reported to the Sanitation Customer Service Call Center at 1-800-773-2489.  Reports are confidential and may be anonymous.  A field check will be made and a notice sent to the homeowner.  Information is available under “trash container services” at LACity.org. Source

A: Your board meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. An agenda for the meeting is typically posted on our website at the end of the previous week on our blog. You can see minutes from past meetings here.
