Pet Warnings

Numerous incidents of aggressive coyotes along the Kentwood Bluffs are being reported. According to these reports, coyotes are approaching humans walking dogs and are not intimidated by screams or cars. Most reports come from pre-dawn and twilight times.

The City of LA’s Department of Animal Services has a page dedicated to coyotes in the City. Find it here.

In a separate incident, a Westchester resident reported that his decapitated cat was left on his porch steps. Because of the nature of the injuries and the placement of the animal, it is believed that the cat was not attacked by another animal.

Keep your animals safe, and please report anything you see. Please also don’t leave pet food outside overnight. This is a major attraction for the coyotes and other wildlife.
