Our fiscal year closed on May 31st and we would typically have our Annual Member meeting and election in June. This year is different and we wanted to update everybody.
First, the pandemic has been super disruptive for everybody, including KHG. Your Board is still holding electronic meetings and just recently got back on the regular meeting schedule. The electronic meetings have brought out lots of members we haven’t seen before and that has been a real bonus. Hopefully you can join us at our next electronic meeting – typically the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
Second, the real reason our Annual Meeting has been delayed is due to changes in HOA laws at the end of 2019. These changes required us to update our Election Rules and, by law, we are not allowed to hold an election until a certain amount of time has passed after the election rules are changed.
Your Board adopted new election rules on April 30, 2020, and set September 12, 2020 for the Annual Member Meeting. More details will follow on the meeting, but it is highly likely it will be a digital meeting and the tentative topic is “Amending Our Governing Rules.”
Given that there is extra time, we are opening Board nominations again for a two week period. Two seats are up for election and you can read more about the requirements here.
