Kentwood Home Guardians’ 2014 Annual Member Meeting and Board of Director Election is set for Saturday, May 31, 2014, beginning at 1:00 p.m., in the Community Room of Fire Station #5, located at 8900 S. Emerson Ave., Westchester. Signs will be posted at the front gate of the fire station and on the gate crossing Emerson, to guide you to the meeting room. Parking is available along Emerson Ave.
The main purpose of this meeting is to conduct the election for the two Board of Director seats which are open this year. The meeting is also scheduled to include a presentation by Kentwood’s Los Angeles City Council representative Mike Bonin, as well as a “public comment” period in which members may speak.
Voting for Board members can be accomplished either by attending and voting in person, or by voting by mail using the “secret ballot” packages that are being mailed to all KHG members on or before May 1. If you wish to vote by mail, please follow the voting instructions included in that mailing. Whether you vote by mail or in person, KHG encourages all members to vote!
KHG also encourages all members to attend the annual Member Meeting, as well as the monthly Board of Directors meetings (typically held the third Wednesday of each month, with agendas available from KHG’s business office or on KHG’s website on the preceding Friday). KHG will function best with active involvement and participation from a diverse range of its nearly 3400 member-households. Last year saw increases in community participation and KHG community-related activities, as well as more public and transparent procedures for KHG management. KHG wants to build on this success by getting more people involved.
KHG looks forward to seeing you at the meeting!
