LA City Community Plan Update & Links

The City of Los Angeles maintains 35 Community Plans, one for each of its Community Plan Areas. These plans are meant to guide policy and land use in Los Angeles’s neighborhoods.

Our plan area includes Westchester, Playa del Rey and Playa Vista and is currently in the plan update process, concurrently with West Los Angeles, Palms/Mar Vista and Venice. All four plans are collectively called “Planning The Westside” by the planning department. Our Plan was last updated in 2004, 16 years ago and before most of Playa Vista was built.

The latest plan draft was made public in mid-July with a commenting period set to close on August 31st and then updated to close on September 15th.

Members are encouraged to review the entire plan and should pay special attention to the proposed Manchester Corridor Center, as it directly impacts Kentwood with its proposed density.
